This year, Christmas was INTENSE (to say the least)! This was the first year I had double family duty; meaning I had my family and Trav’s family to celebrate with. Luckily it all worked out great. We started the festivities with a Christmas for Cash on the 17th, my family on the 23rd, dinner with Trav’s great-aunt, Christmas Eve with Trav’s extended family, and then waking up to celebrate with my future family in-law.
For two separate parties, I was in charge of dessert. When you have a family member named #CupKate, she is always the dessert bringer. So naturally I went searching Pinterest for something easy, delicious, and festive…and this is what I found: a Nutella Crescent Wreath. I was able to make it ahead of time for my family’s function then bring the necessary ingredients to my future mother-in-law’s house to make for another party. I highly suggest it for the holidays!
Here’s What You Need:
- 2 cans (8oz) Pillsbury™ crescent rolls
- 1 C Nutella™
- 1 egg, beaten
- Decorating Icing in Red and Green
Here’s What You Do:
Step 1: Heat the oven to 350ºF. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray. Trust me on this one, it’s so much easier to transfer if it’s extra greasy!
Step 2: Cut another piece of parchment paper for your work station and roll out the crescent dough. Spread Nutella™ evenly over the dough. I recommend heating the Nutella™ in :10 increments to make it easier to spread
Step 3: Roll up the dough from the longest side
Step 4: Cut the log in 1/2
Step 5: Twist the two pieces, trying to keep the Nutella™ side facing up. This part gets a little messy and yes, I forgot to take a photo…oops! Each wrap will be 1/2 of the wreath. Try to pinch the connecting edges together as much as you can.
Step 6: Brush with the egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes.
Step 7: Let the wreath cool and then decorate with the icing. With this particular one, I did a double batch for a larger crowd.
